Back when I used to get my songs mixed, they felt “emotionally hollow” like the vibe wasn’t there even if they sounded technically good. I realized that a lot of engineers focus so much on objectively mixing, they end up neglecting what gives each song a soul. For example:

The warmth of a badly recorded guitar

The texture of worn-out guitar strings

The character of backing vocals on a cheap mic

The resonances of your piano
So even though I definitely value the objective side of mixing (clarity, fullness, balance, dynamics, etc…), I put just as much focus on how the song *feels* to listen to.
Instead of automatically treating certain elements as problems that need fixing (like other engineers might), I pay attention to when they might actually enhance the emotion of your track and do my best to bring out your artistic intent.
As long as I understand your vision, we can work towards getting a mix that brings your song to its full potential.
MASTERING
Get your song to translate well across streaming platforms, reach industry standard loudness, and stand up against other songs on streaming platforms.
Since music is mostly a subjective process, it’s easy to get carried away by emotional decisions. For example:

Overloading the high end and making the mix harsh

Boosting the lows to get the drums to hit but sacrificing clarity, which is key to them cutting through the speakers

A hi-hat being too loud (common issue)

Weak sounds that don’t compete with the reference track
As a mastering engineer, I offer an objective perspective, using graphs, meters, and references to help artists determine if their mix or production needs adjustments to achieve the best possible outcome.
